This reference book responds to the continuing demand from students, overseas educational advisors, U.S. academic advisors, and librarians for an informal resource on grants and fellowships available to foreign nationals from public and private sector organizations. Information from about 5000 surveyed organizations focuses on 600 appropriate grants and fellowships. Six preliminary sections provide an introduction, map of the United States, and information on: the Institute of International Education; how to use the book; financial aid planning for U.S. study; and international student statistics and financial support. A map of the United States is also included. The major portion of the document consists of grant and fellowship information. Usually provided are offering organization name, grant or fellowship name, address, phone number, field of study, type of award, purpose, financial data, annual number of awards, duration of award, restrictions, eligibility, application deadline, and application procedure. Two appendices provide a list of overseas educational advising centers and a form for suggesting additional grants. Four indices provide access by organization, nationality, educational level, and field of study.
